Sometimes, it seems like people get all stuck and caught up in definitions. So much so, that I think they are missing the point. This is especially the case when it comes to full-time RVing. So today, let’s talk about what it really means to be a full-time RVer.
I live in an RV and move around every week
Awesome. You, my friend, are a full-time RVer, there is no doubt about it. Your house is either long-gone or you are renting it out full-time. Each and every day, you lay your head down on that pillow in your "master bedroom". Home for you is where you park it.
A couple of years ago, we had 6-months of this type of travel. On occasion, we would stay up to 2 weeks. We covered a lot of ground in that time and made a lot of memories.
I Also Live in an RV, but I only Move Around Every Month or 3 Months
Hey, this is the category I fall under right now! Yes, we sold it all and moved into our RV. Our life though doesn’t allow for travel every week or even every 2 weeks. We are slow travelers that make it work and YES, we are Full-Time RVers too!!
Hey, so I am in my RV, but I’m stationary
This is probably the last category of Full-Time RVer. This past summer we were stationary in Colorado. We didn’t move the RV for nearly 6 months. If you fall into this category, you sold it all too, but maybe traveling isn’t something you want to do or you just aren’t able to do it just yet. It doesn’t matter, you are also full-time RVing just like the rest of us.
Full-Time RVing is Really About Freedom
Regardless of which category you fall under, the biggest thing you need to remember as a full-time RVer is freedom. This RV life should be freeing and you should be striving for an RV style that fits you and your family and what you need. It often is ever-changing, just like we are as humans. We grow, we learn, we work, we play. The journey is open for us to define.
I want to be Full-Time RVing, but I’m not yet.

Exploring the Local Life is a Latino Roadschooling family of four that has been on the road since October 2015. We blog and vlog all about RVing, but it's not always rainbows and campfires. It's real-life every day as we navigate love, unschooling, and breaking free from the mold in our 26ft home on wheels.
I don't actually know where the first photo was taken!! lol It's a stock photo. I want to camp there too!!
Yes! I love this explanation of the life. It’s all about freedom...the freedom to choose...the freedoms to live life on ones own terms!
Every two weeks, 30,000 miles a year. We’re gonna slow it down this year 🤓
Hi! Every 2 weeks here! 😊 Where was that first picture taken? Looks like some amazing boondocking!
